Turn to Misting Fans to beat the summer heat!

Turn to Misting Fans to beat the summer heat! We have all experienced the brunt of summer heat in one way or another. Conditions certainly improve the second a light breeze starts blowing but imagine how much better it could be if the breeze was cool and fresh and filled with cool water mist! Sure it would be easy if you lived by the sea but not everyone is that fortunate. How about getting some misting fans to have cool mist when you want, where you want, at the flick of switch?

Whether you are a worker in a factory, playing sports outside or enjoying a family lunch in the garden, we all know that the summer heat can take its toll. People come up with all kinds of solutions to fight the heat and few things work better than whipping out the fan to get some air moving. This improves the situation but still, its only hot air being blown around.

Nowadays it is possible to boost the cooling capacity of your standard fan by turning it into a misting fan. Simply retro-fit a low pressure mist ring to the front of the fan, connect to your garden hose and there you have it, cool mist on demand. Retro-fitting is definitely budget-friendly but can be time consuming and is definitely more suited to the DIY crowd.

Now if you want something a bit bigger and better, you want to look out for high pressure misting fans that produce ultra-fine droplets and give spectacular cooling results indoors and outdoors. These cooling fans may come as single units with the pump included and are usually self contained and very mobile. Mobile misting fans are fantastic for all outdoor events and all kinds of outdoor or semi-enclosed work areas were spot evaporative cooling is required.

It is also possible to cool large spaces such as warehouses and manufacturing plants with misting fans. These systems are much larger and have many satellite fans evenly and strategically located throughout the area that requires cooling. A central pump station will supply high pressure mist to all the fans fitted with misting rings. It is pretty standard to expect temperature reductions of 8°C and more throughout the summer months.

If you had to compare misting fans to air-conditioning the major differences would be capital outlay and operating costs. In both departments misting fans would come in much cheaper. But this method of cooling has its limitations and is more specifically suited to locations with large, open or semi-enclosed spaces such as factories, warehouses and workshops. Misting Fans work especially well where air-conditioning is not a viable option and where maintaining a constant temperature is not a priority.
